Gabriel Garde Profile Picture

Gabriel is currently the Mission Operations Manager for the Balloon Program. He is responsible for the implementation of flight campaigns, mission planning, mission management, and is the principal NASA interface for CSBF Operations. He has supported the NASA Balloon Program since 2003 in many aspects of operations and balloon research and development. Previously he conducted thermal and performance analysis of conventional and super pressure balloons as well as and shape and strain analysis for the Physical Science Laboratory.

He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University in 2002. He has submitted technical work regarding thermal analysis and photogrammetric analysis to both the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He is a member of Pi Tau Sigma, AIAA, and ASME and has received several NASA awards for ballooning activities.
