Code 802: Advanced Projects Office
The NASA Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) Advanced Projects Office is the first point-of-contact for Wallops customers. We connect interested commercial, state, and federal organizations with products and services beneficial to the support of their instrumentation, testing, airborne tests, flight, suborbital and orbital science and mission needs.
We help you:
- Outline and understand steps necessary to pursue mission and project activities at Wallops.
- Address questions concerning capabilities, mission feasibility, operational barriers, technical support potential, and procedures to implement missions and projects at Wallops.
- Facilitate administrative processes necessary to conduct activities at Wallops, including scheduling, budgeting, and agreement development.
The Office leads and/or participates in:
- Proactively helping science, flight, suborbital, orbital, satellite development, and land-based mission projects/operations achieve success.
- Representing Wallops to a wide variety of external organizations.
- Managing commercial, state, and federal project relationships.
- Soliciting customer feedback and addressing issues or concerns.
- Promoting Wallops capabilities.
- Addressing issues that cross NASA/Wallops organizational boundaries.
- Maintaining knowledge of government and industry activities that influence Wallops.
- Providing Wallops project and facility strategic planning.
- Providing policy guidance to Wallops senior management and supporting organizations.
- Complying with NASA regulations for commercial, state, and federal organizations while operating at Wallops.
- Formulation of NPR 7120.8, NASA Research and Technology executable proposals for missions and instruments.
