Code 548: Mechanical Systems Branch

The Mechanical Systems Branch provides end-to-end mechanical systems mission design and implementation, including Project Design Lead roles, for suborbital and special orbital projects, technology development efforts, and spacecraft subsystems. This includes broad support services in the areas of:

  • Mechanical system design and development
  • Structural analysis
  • Thermal engineering
  • Assembly, integration, and testing

The Mechanical Systems Branch maintains responsibility for the development and management of world-class integration and testing facilities at WFF. Its leadership and investments in mechanical technology development enable and expand the mission capabilities of WFF.
