PUBLIC PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
+ Model
Rocket Launch - October 4
A model rocket launch will be held at 1pm on the Visitor Center
grounds. Models of various rockets will be launched. Model
rocketeers are invited to bring their own rockets to launch. The
launch will be canceled if it is raining or winds exceed 18 mph.
+ Kite Flight
- October 11
Learn all about kites and how they fly!
Following the presentation, kids will build and fly their own sled
kite. The program begins at 1 pm and will last 45 minutes.
+ Light Storms
- October 18
It's not magic - it's Auroras! The
mysteries of auroras are revealed in this 30 minute program, followed
by a flipbook activity. The program begins at 1pm.
+ Night Sky
- October 25
You don't need a telescope to explore many of the
wonders of the night sky. In this 20 minute program kids will
learn the basics of the stars and moon. They'll also get to make
a cascade of stars mobile to take home with them. The program
begins at 1pm.

PUBLIC PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
+ Puppets in Space
"Puppets in Space," a 10-minute puppet show, will be presented at 11 AM
on Saturdays and Sundays. Puppet astronauts and Sam the monkey
will explore space flight, including the space suit. An 8-minute
version of the film "Astrosmiles" follows the puppet show.
+ Humans in Space
"Humans in Space" is the subject of a 1 PM Sunday program for children
of all ages. The 30-minute program looks at living and working in
space, including a review of the astronauts' culinary delights and
their wardrobe.
+ Space Ace
Young explorers can earn a NASA lithograph and "Space Ace" certificate
by completing an activity sheet during their visit. Ask at the
Front Desk for an activity sheet.
