2007-2008 Antarctica Campaign 2008-01-31 NASA achieved a new milestone in scientific observations using balloons by launching and operating 3 long-duration flights within a single Antarctic Summer. 577N CREAM Dr. Eun-Suk Seo, University of Maryland. The CREAM instrument will investigate ultra high energy cosmic rays over the elemental range from protons to iron. The goal is to observe spectral features and/or abundance changes that might be related to a supernova acceleration limit. This is the third flight for the instrument.
