Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (CIBER)

The CIBER payload at Wallops prior to the first flight in 2008.36.277 UG Terrier-Black Brant  was launched from White Sands Missile Range on March 22, 2012. The purpose of Cosmic Infrared Background Experiment (CIBER) is to investigate the spectral and spatial properties of the extragalactic near-infrared background, and will require acquisition of multiple targets with minimal contamination from terrestrial sources of infrared emission. Dr. Jamie Bock/California Institute of Technology is the principal investigator.
