Wallops Contractor Safety Council Charter

Purpose

The Wallops Contractor Safety Council was established to assist the many different employers at Wallops Flight Facility in performing their jobs in a safe manner.

Goal

Provide a forum to coordinate the safety issues between organizations and minimize overlap and omissions in the government and contractor or contractor to contractor safety programs.

Examples: Lock out / Tag out, Confined Space rules, interaction of maintenance and routine operations, etc.

Composition

Any Contractor at WFF is eligible to be a member. It is anticipated that the On-site Supervisor and the Safety representative will be the principle members. NASA will provide a Representative with Safety Program Management responsibilities.

Ground Rules

The actions of this council are intended to assist safe work practice, but will not supersede corporate policy nor change contract requirements. Meetings will be held quarterly or as necessary.

Email Marvin Bunting or contact at 757-824-2030 with any questions.
